Royle Printing is set to break ground next month on a significant expansion of its Success Way facility, a move that underscores the company’s continued growth and long-term investment in the print industry.
The family-owned commercial printer will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, May 11 at 3:00 p.m. at its facility in Sun Prairie. The project will add approximately 175,000 square feet to the company’s existing footprint, consolidating office, production, finishing, and distribution operations into a single, integrated space.
Company President and Owner Chris Carpenter said the expansion reflects both strong demand and a forward-looking strategy.
“This investment reflects our long-term commitment to our customers, our employees, and the future of print,” Carpenter said in a statement. “We are experiencing strong growth, and this expansion allows us to continue delivering the high level of service, quality, and innovation that our partners expect.”
The project will be completed in partnership with TJK Design Build, a firm Royle has worked with on previous developments.
Founded in 1948, Royle Printing has grown from a small regional printer into a nationally recognized provider of high-quality catalog, magazine, and direct mail printing. The company is known for its focus on short-run and mid-run publications, as well as its ability to combine printing, binding, and mailing services into a streamlined workflow. Its client base includes major publishers, retailers, and nonprofit organizations across the United States.
In recent years, Royle has invested heavily in advanced press technology, including high-speed web offset presses and automated finishing systems, allowing it to compete in a rapidly evolving print market increasingly shaped by digital integration and targeted direct mail campaigns.
The new expansion is expected to further enhance those capabilities by increasing production capacity and improving operational efficiency. Bringing multiple functions under one roof is also expected to reduce turnaround times and improve coordination across departments.
Local officials and community members have been invited to attend the May 11 ceremony, which marks another milestone for one of Sun Prairie’s longstanding manufacturing employers.
Royle’s continued growth reflects broader stability within certain segments of the print industry—particularly in catalogs and direct mail—where physical media remains an effective marketing tool despite the rise of digital alternatives.
The company’s Success Way facility is located at 1750 Success Way in Sun Prairie.
