NO on the city services referendum
The election results in the City of Sun Prairie did not follow a clear pattern. For example—
For state Supreme Court Justice, Chris Taylor defeated Maria Lazar 9,074 (77%) to 2,746 (23%).
For District 2 Alder, Santiago Rosas defeated Sara Mork 1,746 (62%) to 1,075 (38%).
On the city services referendum, the Yes vote was defeated by the No vote 4,886 (42%) to 6,849 (58%).
Note that only slightly more people voted in the race for state Supreme Court Justice (11,820) than voted on the city services referendum (11,735).
There were only six wards in the City of Sun Prairie where there were more Yes than No votes on the city services referendum: Ward 3, which includes Carriage Hills Estates Park;
Ward 7, which includes East Side Elementary School;
Ward 20, which includes the YMCA;
Ward 21, which includes the Providence neighborhood;
Ward 28, which is the Heyday low-density rental development; Ward 30, which is the Serenity Estates subdivision containing some of the largest and most expensive houses in the city.
A map of city voting wards can be viewed here.
The vote in Ward 3 was 194 Yes to 190 No.
The vote in Ward 7 was 170 Yes to 156 No.
